A SocialBox.Biz blog post update by Hether 19 April 2020

Recently, the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) highlighted efforts between C4WS and SocialBoxBiz to tackle isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. This recognition comes at a time when a parliamentary inquiry is exploring how lack to digital means are impacting isolated groups in society.

In 2018 According to the Office for National Statistics, there were still 5.3 million adults in the UK, or 10 per cent of the adult UK population, who were non-internet users.

A further study found that 11.3 million people in the UK don’t have the basic digital skills they need to get by in today’s world.

SocialBoxBiz is thrilled to join forces with charitable organizations for the Laptops for Homeless Initiative, which is providing donated laptops to help those in need communicate with loved ones, find new jobs, and learn new skills.

If your organisation ever considered donating a laptop for the Laptops for the Homeless and Vulnerable Initiative, then now is the time. We have young people in need who want to continue their education and get on their feet, and we know that with your help, we can help them. If you’d like to donate, please connect with us today!
