New partnerships: Working Chance

A blog post update by Jenni (May 2018)

Were excited to announce a new partnership weve started with the charity Working Chance! Working Chance allows our social impact programs to reach a new population of UK residents in needwomen who have recently been released from incarceration. Many of these ex-offenders have also experienced homelessness and often lack career opportunities after their release due to their limited previous job experience and professional skills. However, the recruitment teams at Working Chance place these women in appropriate jobs so they can start walking down their new career path.

Last month, we were honoured to help build a brand new training room at the Working Chance facility. Thanks to partnerships with our social impact consultancy clients, we were able to supply the charity with lap top computers running open source software which will be used to teach technology skills. The female ex-offenders who Working Chance serves will be able to learn how to use open source software such as word processing, email, and spreadsheet programs to complete administrative tasks at their next job. They will also be able to complete free, self-paced e-learning courses so they can learn more advanced technology skills within the Linux operating system.
